Pocket Smith Co. was built from a lifelong appreciation for the way properly prepared equipment can change an athlete’s confidence and performance.
Founder Edgar has played baseball since he was four years old. He learned glove care from his father and spent years relacing, conditioning, and shaping his own gloves.
When his daughter began playing softball, Edgar started working on her glove, then her teammates’ gloves. Seeing those players step onto the field with equipment that felt comfortable, functional, and ready to perform inspired him to create Pocket Smith Co.
Edgar understands the sacrifices families make to give their athletes quality equipment. Pocket Smith exists to make sure that equipment works the way it was intended to.

There is no single correct way to break in every glove.
An infielder needs a different pocket and closure than an outfielder. Youth gloves require a different approach than adult gloves. Catcher’s mitts and first-base mitts require their own pocket placement and shaping.
Before beginning, Pocket Smith considers:
